Mick Foley is coming to Planet Funk Con in 2022
Planet Funk Con is thrilled to announce special guest Mick Foley from WWE at their convention in August 2022!
I’m happy to say that I was a fan of Mick before he was in WWE. When I was 20, a friend of mine would buy these Japanese bootlegs to watch on a Saturday night. I remember watching Mick Foley when he wrestled Terry Funk in a Japanese deathmatch. Cactus Jack (Mick) was bleeding from his face so much it looked like a Halloween mask. The ropes were barbed wire and they used ladders and trash cans as weapons.
To say he impressed us is a huge understatement.
hell in a cell 1998
One of the most infamous wrestling matches in history is the Hell in a Cell match starring Mick Foley (as Mankind) against The Undertaker. They climbed to the top of the 16ft structure and Mick was both ejected, into a table at ringside and through onto the mat below. Although he lost consciousness, he finished the game – with one of his front teeth stuck in his nose.
“As God as a witness, he is broken in two” -Jim Ross, WWE announcer
