Airbnb cracks down on unauthorized parties in Las Vegas.
The company announced it will prevent customers with bad reviews from renting properties during major holiday weekends.
Airbnb piloted the initiative over the July 4 weekend last year and blocked more than 1,800 people from booking on their website.
The anchor of the plan is to block select one-night reservations over Memorial Day weekend and July 4 weekend from whole-home listings in Las Vegas and across the United States.

This is the first time Airbnb will deploy this defense for Memorial Day weekend.
“It’s one thing to have a policy, but it’s another thing to do our best to enforce that policy and recognize the reality that there will always be people who don’t care about that rule and who are trying to break that rule,” said Ben Breit, director of trust and safety for Airbnb.
Breit says parties in Airbnbs are no longer allowed since summer 2020.
Going forward, the company may consider the same policy for holiday weekends like Halloween and New Years.
Airbnb also has a 24/7 Neighborhood Helpline available for people to write if they have any complaints.
