“Airbnb for events” expands rental offerings in Dallas “Dallas innovates

Whether you’re looking for meeting space, an event location, a backdrop for a photoshoot, or a multimedia production site, Dallas people can now rent everything, by the hour, on Peerspace.

Calling itself “the world’s largest market for hourly single space rentals,” Peerspace announced last week that it was expanding into North Texas with a number of local offerings. It’s like an Airbnb or a VRBO for the holidays; the process is put in place so that hosts can generate income from underutilized seasonal or weekly unused spaces.

The platform also provides advice to event planners, with the aim of taking the hassle out of booking negotiations and paperwork.

With over 10,000 sites available on the site, Peerspace allows users to currently make reservations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta and now Dallas.

“Dallas is a vibrant hub of innovation and commerce, offering many unique and creative venues across the region,” said CEO Eric Shoup. “Peerspace users have been asking for a Dallas launch for some time, so we’re really excited to connect guests with incredible, undiscovered spaces for their film productions, meetings, social gatherings and beyond. “

Shoup says an inspiring space is an often overlooked aspect of booking an event, but it’s vital to the experience.

Founded in 2014, Peerspace, headquartered in San Francisco, aims to open doors to the best places in a city to meet, create and celebrate. The Community Market offers everything from mansions and storefronts, churches and restaurants, in a range of prices.

In Dallas, Peerspace lists among its offerings: a large industrial studio with downtown views, a small craft house, and an upscale ballroom.

“Peerspace is great because it allows me to rent my room by the hour, without having to worry about hosting overnight guests,” Alishan Jadhavji, a Dallas-based Peerspace host, said in a statement. “The Peerspace clients have been amazing and I’ve put on some great events including modeling sessions, corporate meetings and retreats, and even a music video shoot for an Australian pop star. “
