After a long day of travelling, having a restful and suitably magical place to hang your coat is a must. Fan-friendly rentals of this nature have been popping up all over the world, including, recently, a Slytherin-friendly house in Yorkshire and a Gryffindor haven in Manila. Adventurous wizards with their minds on the mountains, however, should look no further than Asheville, North Carolina, where a new Harry Potter-Themed Airbnb is waiting for you, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Mike and Caroline Parrish, a couple from North Carolina, started their business, Serenity Treehouses, in 2016, with the goal of creating unique and whimsical travel destinations in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Delighted in creating themed rentals, like their Hobbit-hole inspired offering called Dragon’s Knoll, the pair have also invested in the enduring trend of Potter– thematic places. Their most recent addition, called Alchemy, was completed in February and provides Harry Potter– inspired delights upon arrival.
Guests enter the house through a camping tent strongly reminiscent of those featured at the Quidditch World Cup in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Much like the tent shared by Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys, this one is bigger on the inside than its appearance would suggest. A 12-foot spiral slide located just inside the entrance takes guests underground to the main living space overflowing with Potter– thematic keys. Hogwarts cloaks hang from hooks on the wall and a Sorting Hat awaits those who have not yet determined their House. Lighting is provided by golden snitch bulbs and themed pillows adorn the queen bed and futon. Built on the side of the mountain, the windows facing the outside offer a view that is simply mesmerizing.

Outside is an additional tent, aptly named Enchantment, as well as a fire pit for brewing potions or, alternatively, roasting s’mores. A walk-in entrance to Alchemy is provided behind a nearby rock for those who choose to forgo the slide.
The extra tent, Enchantment, is described by the owners as the “best seating area ever”.
Guests won’t be short on Muggle amenities, either, as Alchemy includes a kitchenette, coffeemaker, Wi-Fi, and Roku TV. The rental can accommodate four people and is fully equipped with heating and air conditioning as well as full plumbing. Alchemy can be booked for $396 a night.
