Al Michaels is not a fan of the PA announcer at SoFi Stadium during Los Angeles Rams games.

Michaels was on call for Week 14’s “Thursday Night Football” game between the Rams and the Las Vegas Raiders. At the end of the first quarter of the game, Herbstreit and Michaels were discussing whether the crowd was made up more of Raiders or Rams fans.

This led to Michaels complaining about the AP announcer and the announcer being out of place.

“You have an AP presenter here who keeps yelling, ‘Whose house is this? ” I hate that. He wants them to say “Rams house”. But when it comes to the Raiders, it’s kind of like their Airbnb. It may not be their home, but…” Michaels said.

Michaels’ point is not new.

The Rams moved to Los Angeles for the 2016 season after spending more than 20 years in St. Louis. Although they have a previous history in Los Angeles, the team played in Anaheim before moving to St. Louis. Despite their past history in Los Angeles and winning the Super Bowl last season, the Rams are still not as popular in the city as many other NFL teams are in their respective cities. Fans of opposing teams often draw more fans to SoFi Stadium during games against the Rams.

The Raiders played in LA from 1982 to 1994 before returning to Oakland. They built a large fan base in Los Angeles during their time there, and many fans who became Raiders fans remained Silver and Black fans.

Michaels was pointing out how stupid it was for the annoying AP announcer to chant “whose house?” when the crowd was split between Raiders and Rams fans.
