Another METALLICA song is featured in a Netflix series
There’s a whole bunch of new stuff Metallic news this week, people! In case you haven’t heard it all, this week the band released their first new single in seven years, “Lux Aeterna,” and announced a massive two-year stadium tour that includes Pantera, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punchand Ice Nine Kills among many others around the world. But that’s not all that happened in the Metalverse!
As it turns out, another one Metallic song, although performed by apocalyptic– is featured in another Netflix series, as the string quartet version of “Nothing Else Matters” is featured in the Addams Family inspired Wednesdayfrom the producer Tim Burton and which debuted last week.
Earlier this year, Metallic“Master of Puppets” was featured in the season finale of the Netflix series stranger thingssending the 1986 classic to the top of most viral charts on nearly every DSP. Hannah Davis—the Director of Creative Sync Licensing at QPrime Management, who is also Metallicthe long-time management team of—recently talked about licensing “Master of Puppets” for use in stranger things and the potential long reach of synchronization licenses in the future.
“Synchronization has a unique power,” Davis said over the summer. “I think sometimes as a viewer you might have an emotional connection to a song because it’s such an uplifting or emotional piece of music. When that song is paired with a scene where you’re also invested in the plot or characters, it merges those two feelings to create an even greater bond. And it, essentially, creates a new work of art that brings new fans into the fold and energizes established fans as well.
Metallic will release their 11th studio album, 72 seasons April 14, 2023 on Blackened Recordings. Their 2023-2024 weekend tour dates can be found below.
