Birmingham City open talks with Nigerian defender who idolizes Virgil van Dijk :: All Nigeria Soccer

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Championship side Birmingham City have opened contract talks with promising Nigerian centre-back Chris Ogor.

The Blues are keen to extend his stay at St. Andrew’s Stadium following his impressive performances for the club’s U18 and U21 sides.

Considered one of Birmingham City’s academy’s brightest talents, Ogor has been invited to train with the first team on several occasions this season, a testament to the high regard he places in coaching.

Birmingham City are hoping the Nigerian will sign his first professional contract with the club when negotiations are completed.

The 17-year-old offers versatility as he is able to play as a left back, left back and left centre-back, and he has cited Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk as a role model.

Ogor modeling his game after the Netherlands World Cup is hardly a surprise considering he was a schoolboy at Liverpool for five years before moving to Birmingham City in 2021.

Standing at 6ft 1in, Oni is quick, strong, has good passing ability, quite decent in terms of technique and aggressive in his game.
