Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have announced the name of their baby girl. Bella Esmeralda was born on Monday April 18 and her name was confirmed in an Instagram post today.

The couple were expecting twins, but tragically lost their baby boy. Bella Esmeralda arrived safely and was able to return home to her family.

Manchester United star Ronaldo later posted a photo of his daughter, thanking fans who sent the couple a message of support after the loss of their son.

He wrote at the time: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.

“Your support is very important and we have all felt the love and respect you have for our family. Now is the time to be grateful for the life we ​​have just welcomed into this world.”

The sad news of his son’s death was revealed in a post from the couple which appeared on the social media accounts of Manchester United and Portuguese striker Ronaldo on April 18.

He said: “It is with our greatest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain a parent can feel.

“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.

“We are all devastated by this loss and kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

“Our little boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
