Did anyone buy the Fixer Upper castle after Chip and Jo’s renovation?

Did Chip and Joanna Gaines buy a castle and did someone buy the amazing Fixer Upper property after they’re done? These are just two of the questions fans are asking as the Gaines release a new show.

HGTV fans fell in love with Joanna, Chip and their show Fixer Upper when they first appeared on the network in 2013.

The Gaineses appeared on HGTV with their home improvement show for five years before moving to their own station, Magnolia Network, while airing the show on HBO Max.

Chip and Joanna are back in 2022 but not as fans have seen them before. And this time, they’re not fixing any old houses, they’ve got their hands on a castle!

Did Chip and Joanna buy a castle?

Yes, Chip and Joanna Gaines did buy themselves a 100+ year old castle to fix.

Speaking in the trailer for their new show, Fixer Upper: The Castle, Chip explained that he’s “wanted the property for two decades”.

Their plan for the castle was to return the property to its original state, but Joanna admitted it was a “much bigger” renovation than they thought. Some of the challenges included sourcing the same stone that was used to build the castle over a century ago.

Where is the top repairman?

During the trailer for Fixer Upper: The Castle, Chip reveals that the castle is one of the “most impressive properties in all of Waco, Central Texas”.

The property is located at 3300 Austin Avenue, Waco, Texas, 76710.

Chip and Joanna purchased the property in 2019.

Has anyone bought the Fixer Upper castle?

No. According to the property ZillowpageCottonland Castle is not for sale at this time.

The website also doesn’t say the property has been listed since Joanna and Chip bought it in 2019, so it doesn’t look like anyone bought Fixer Upper Castle from them or even had a nose!

After purchasing the chateau in 2019, Chip and Joanna spent three years renovating it. The property was built in 1890 and took 23 years to build. It is now almost 130 years old and spans 6,700 square feet (622 m²).

Talk to HEY, Joanna revealed that they wanted the neighbors to “be proud” of their castle renovation. Joanna also said she thinks they should sell the chateau once the renovation is complete.

Chip added, “We bought it to sell it.”

However, he also said he might regret the sale if they did!

While their final decision on whether or not to sell in the future remains up in the air, Chip and Joanna have confirmed that they are not going to rent the property or “Airbnb it”. Sorry folks, no short breaks on the horizon!
