Did you know? There’s an “expedition cruise” from Vancouver to Alaska

With cruises returning to Vancouver, we thought we’d take a look at one of the most interesting! It turns out that National Geographic has an “expedition cruise” every summer between Vancouver and Alaska, and you can be a part of it. If you have the money, of course. Here’s what that entails.

Spread over two weeks, the cruise will take passengers to some of the most iconic areas of British Columbia’s west coast and Alaskan waters. From the moment you board the ship, the National Geographic Orionyou’ll be treated to incredible vistas, unparalleled wildlife viewing, and some truly amazing activities.

And since this is an “expedition cruise” from Vancouver to Alaska, you can bet there are other unique opportunities to partake in. During the trip, you’ll ride in a zodiac to discover glaciers, fjords, and icebergs, kayak and paddleboard (hopefully) among some whales, and go on walks to discover pristine natural areas alongside cultural landmarks.

Naturally, this National Geographic cruise isn’t exactly the “chill and relax” option. Instead, the company requires all customers to be in “good health” and capable of light to moderate daily activities. Of course, your reward for exploring, beyond memories, is a litany of incredible dinners and meals, complete with booze whenever your heart desires.

It’s like the perfect mix of outdoors and candlelight, and the price certainly reflects that. For this incredible cruising opportunity, expect to be set back at least $16,900, and that’s without the round-trip airfare from Anchorage to Vancouver. We think it’s worth it, but damn it, we’re gonna have to start saving!
