Downey shooting leaves 3 dead, 2 injured

Three men were killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Downey early Sunday morning.

It happened around 00:45 the 8100 block of Leeds Street near where a house party was taking place.

Downey officers responded to the scene to a report of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, they found four men and a woman who had been shot.

Three of the men were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth man and woman were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their terms are unclear at this time.

Detectives from the Downey Police Department have taken over the investigation and say the shooting appears to have been an isolated incident and no additional suspects are being sought at this time.

Investigators said several people opened fire and it seems likely that some of the victims were the ones who fired.
