Georgia couple trick Walmart cashier and easily walk out of store with thousands of goods: police

A man and a woman in Georgia conned a Walmart cashier into stealing more than $6,000 in merchandise and gift cards, authorities say.

The couple loaded a Walmart cart with a pile of big-ticket items in Grovetown on Nov. 30, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. When they arrived at the cash register, they made several card transactions, according to the deputies, WRDW reported.

The two managed to confuse the cashier when they demanded that the “cash” button on the cash register be pressed for their credit card to work.

The tactic then led to the merchandise sounding like it had to be paid for in cash, so their credit cards weren’t charged, WRDW reported.
