the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is a premium travel card that lets you get out of town, and it comes with a pretty sizable sign-up bonus to help you do just that. Capital One already makes our list of best travel credit cards, with its absence of annual fees Venture One and sister card Business, both of which earn miles for everyday purchases. It recently got into the luxury travel game with this latest addition – and there’s a sign-up bonus worth $1,000 in travel credits.

So what sets this new map apart from its peers? Venture X cardholders earn 2X miles on every purchase, and a boost when booking getaways through the Capital One travel portal, where flights earn 5X miles and hotel stays and cars from rental earns 10X miles. Each year, members receive a $300 credit to use in the portal, significantly reducing the $395 annual fee. It’s further discounted with a 10,000 mile birthday bonus (equivalent to around $100).
For added flexibility, miles can be transferred to other loyalty programs, including individual transfers with partners such as Air France and British Airways. The portal also has advantages. For example, if travelers book on the recommendation of the issuer, they can be reimbursed for further price reductions.
On the go, Venture X members have access to over 1,300 Priority pass lounges.
