New Jersey State Police responded to a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 West in Essex County near Newark on Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe Nicole A. Greco’s Scion, 51, was run over by a tractor-trailer at around 3:30 p.m. near the 12.6 mile post in West Orange on I-280.

The semi-trailer struck Greco’s car and caused a chain reaction involving three other vehicles heading west. Greco’s Scion then collided with the rear of a Toyota which struck the rear of a Honda, RLS Media reports.

Greco, 51, of Chester, was killed in the crash, New Jersey State Police said.

At least one other driver was injured, but these injuries are not considered life threatening. The injured driver was later identified as Daniel Clark, 36, of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. He is said to have suffered moderate injuries.

More details of the fatal crash have not been released as police continue their investigation.
