The boutique winery is on sale for $3.395 million.

A Kennet Square vineyard, winery and Airbnb that incorporates new and old design into its architecture has lived many lives, often frequented by historical figures like British General William Howe and baseball legend Babe Ruth, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal

The last identity of the 7.5 acre property is Galer Estate Vineyard and Wineryproducing 2,800 cases of sparkling wine annually.

It’s now on the market for $3.395 million. Owners Lele and Brad Galer want to retain the character of the property and the eight employees who work there.

“I think it’s time for someone else’s new energy to come in and call it their own, but we really don’t want it leveled up,” Lele said.

The award-winning estate is adjacent to Longwood Gardens, which makes it an attraction for tourism. The main house has two tasting rooms, a crusher, a wine cellar, a fermentation room and other facilities involved in the winemaking process.

The architecture, designed by Lele herself, includes a doorway from a French castle, stained glass windows and even steps from Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

A cottage on the estate serves as an Airbnb bed and bath that overlooks the vineyard. The estate’s landscaping was designed by Michael Petrie, who has won numerous accolades from the Philadelphia Flower Show.
