Klarhet in Lutsen, MN has domes for overnight stays

Minnesota’s North Shore is such a beautiful place to visit any time of the year. But you can make this trip even better by staying somewhere unique. There is a relatively new option in the Lutsen, Minnesota area that looks like a small village of domes.

They remind me a bit of the Metrodome (RIP). They are just white domes in the shape of bubbles that you can rent and spend a weekend or a week there. There are four domes in total and each has its own design theme based on the name of the dome.

The place is called Clarhet (it rhymes with star-bet) which is Swedish for clarity. On their website, they say clarity is “the feeling that inspired us when creating each space and the feeling that we hope to find you while you are with us and beyond.”

The first dome is Raidowhich is “Old Norse for ‘the joy of travel, a new way forward and new opportunities'”, so it was the word that inspired the look of this dome.

The second dome is Dagazwhich is “Old Norse for ‘light within, daylight and new beginnings'”.

The third dome is Laguzwhich is “Old Norse for ‘water, sea and deep consciousness'”.

And finally, the fourth dome is Berkananwhich is “Old Norse for ‘birch, revival and mother earth'”.

Each of these domes has its own themes but they all have the same layout. There are two queen beds, one in the front facing the large window (that would be an amazing view!) and one in the loft.

There is also a small seating area in each and also a dining area.

And each of the domes has a kitchen which has a slightly different design depending on which dome it is in.

Don’t worry, there is also a nice bathroom which also includes a shower in each of the domes.

Besides these super cool domes, there are also plenty of things to do. They have a fire pit, you can rent snowshoes, and they even have a garden called a regenerative food forest.

On their website, they explain, “A food forest, or forest garden, is a diverse planting of edible plants and the integration of animals that attempt to mimic the ecosystems and patterns found in the natural world.” I love this concept!

If you want to stay in one of these domes, they aren’t the cheapest, starting at $225 a night, and you need to stay at least 2 nights.
