SAN DIEGO, Nov. 30, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a leading provider of national security solutions, today announced that subscribers to Military magazine Simulation and Training (MS&T) voted Kratos the winner for its innovative use of immersive technologies. The award reinforces Kratos’ leadership in applying immersive technologies to advance military training.

The award, in the Outstanding A/M/V/XR Application category, is for the Mixed Reality (MR) Mission Readiness Training (MRT) system that Kratos developed and fielded for Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). MRT is a turnkey solution that allows aircrews to train in immersive containerized environments, including a UH-1N aircraft simulator, ground group simulator and an operator instructor station. In the first year of operation, eight hundred and eighty flight hours were saved thanks to an O&M [operations & maintenance] cost of $4.5 million ($5,221 per hour/fiscal year 2022), $1 million in ammo savings, and $600,000 saved in travel costs, as reported in the May 10 issue of Military Simulation & Training.

With full mission repeat capability, the MRT system has doubled combat mission readiness rates and is certified for both AFGSC security force qualification and training.

Commenting on the MR application for which Kratos won the award, Jose Diaz, Senior Vice President of Kratos Training Solutions, said, “The integration of aircrew and ground crew simulators allows ground forces to s train collectively with their aircrews just as they would engage in live missions together.
