News Release 249 – Homicide Investigation – 700 Block Springville Rd

Homicide investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a shooting. The incident happened on Monday, December 5, 2022.

At approximately 3:22 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Springville Road, after reports that several people had been shot.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed 3 adult males with apparent gunshot wounds. While at the scene, officers noted that one of the victims’ injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service personnel arrived at the scene and transported all victims to UAB Hospital.

The victim who was noted to have life-threatening injuries succumbed to his injuries while at UAB Hospital.

Currently, no suspects are in custody.
