ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – The first New York Farm Meadery in downtown Albany is ready to open to the general public after a smooth month-long opening.

The Bull and Bee: Meadery & Tasting Room hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday morning. Located at 140 Hamilton St., it is inside a four story building that was purchased from the Albany County Land Bank. It has been renovated to include the business as well as three Airbnb rental spaces.

“We’ve been working hard over the past two years to open this thing up, so it’s kind of a relief, but you’re still like, ‘Have I done enough? Do we need to do more? ‘ Said owner William Yager. “But sometimes less is more. We love everyone and everyone who helped us through this. And we are confident that we are going to have a successful business.

Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by the fermentation of honey.

The Bull and Bee: Meadery & Tasting Room is open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
