The year is almost over! Don’t worry, we not only got our music listening data for the year, but Google released their “Year in Search” data and I got the most wanted “near me” things in central Minnesota! Can you guess what’s on the list? I think you will be surprised by some!
Before arriving at the list Google also shared some fun facts about Minnesota searches!
Apparently the hottest animal in the area this year was the capybara! What?! And if you weren’t one of the people who looked it up, it’s a giant cavy rodent native to South America according to Wikipedia.

Google also shares the most trending recipe from central Minnesota, which was the Jennifer Aniston Salad! It was a salad recipe that went viral on TikTok.

Did you know that Rochester is the only place in the country where “Alpaca Farm Near Me” appears in its top “near me” searches?
Duluth area searched pronouns more than anywhere else in the United States
And Mankato was the only place in the United States that had farmers market in its most popular “near me” searches.
