Pregnant woman injured in crash just north of Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – Radio transmissions from emergency responders who were called to the scene of a traffic accident north of Rochester this morning indicated that a pregnant woman was trapped in her car for about an hour following a collision with a truck.
State Patrol said the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at the junction of Highway 63 and Highway 247 north of Rochester. The woman, Cassandra Tiedeman, 26, of Zumbro Falls, was driving north on Highway 63 when her car collided with an eastbound truck at the intersection often known as “Reinke’s Corner.” The driver of the truck, who has been identified by state patrol as Hassanur Gessod, 20, of Minneapolis, was not injured.
Tiedemann was taken by ambulance to St. Marys Hospital. State Patrol described his injuries as not life threatening. She and the truck driver were wearing their seat belts.
