Ryanair is selling flights for as little as £4.99 – but only for today

Ryanair is offering seats for as little as £4.99 in a major sale – but you’ll have to be quick. Deals are only available until midnight tonight.

Some 300,000 discounted tickets are up for grabs for flights in May. The £4.99 deal includes one-way tickets to places including Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands.

A total of 230 destinations are offered in total. Flights depart from Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Derry, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, reports the Mirror.

The sale takes place at ryanair.com until 11:59 p.m. today (Thursday). Earlier this month, Ryanair was among airlines issuing passport warnings to Britons wishing to travel abroad.

A growing number of countries are ending their Covid travel rules, while others are welcoming UK travelers with some entry rules still in place. Although we’ve all navigated the Covid admin over the holidays, there is one key document that might be easy to overlook, but it’s arguably the most important admin; the validity of your passport.

Countries have their own rules on how long your passport is valid for when traveling – some want three months past your departure date, others six. The impact of Brexit has led to changes in EU rules, with Britons being warned by authorities to check their passports.

Airlines also have their own different rules. Ryanair said non-EU passport holders must have a passport valid for at least three months from their date of departure when traveling to a Schengen member country.

There are exemptions, for example if you have obtained a residence permit or a long-term visa. To travel outside the European Economic Area (EEA), your passport must be valid for the intended period of stay, with a few exceptions:

  • For Jordan, the passport must be valid for six months beyond the duration of the intended stay.
  • For Turkey, the passport must be valid for six months from the date of entry.
  • For Montenegro, the passport must be valid for at least three months.
  • For Bosnia and Herzegovina, the passport must be valid for at least three months.
