Sauk Rapids man arrested in Florida for breaking into a house and taking a bath

(KNSI) – A 26-year-old Sauk Rapids man has been jailed in Florida after he allegedly broke into what he thought was his Airbnb and took a bath.

At around 7:15 a.m. on Christmas morning, Cape Coral police were called to the house for an intruder. They had been there once before for another call from a man holding a rock, shouting to be let in and knocking on the front door. When the police arrived they found shards of glass but no sign of an intruder. They were called home when someone heard noises coming from the second floor.

There, police said they found Levi Sholing in the master bathroom tub. He got dressed and was escorted out of the house.

Sholing allegedly told police that he and his brother were partying in downtown Fort Myers on Christmas Eve, and he drove an Uber home that they were renting. He said he was drunk and broke up with his brother after getting out of the car. When no one answered the door, he said he broke the glass, walked in, and got into the tub. He said he wasn’t here to hurt anyone or commit a crime and honestly thought it was the Airbnb they rented. Police found the Sholings family and the Airbnb where they were staying a block away.

Sholing was charged with trespass and criminal mischief.
