Longview, TX Transit offers safe rides home on New Years Eve

As we prepare to ring in a new year, a friendly reminder that if you plan to carry on and “blow yourself up”, you don’t need to drive home and put your life and the lives of others in danger. There are resources that will help you get home so you can be here next New Year’s Eve.

in partnership with R&K distributors, Longview Transit is preparing to provide a “Safe-Ride-Home” on New Year’s Eve. For the sixteenth consecutive year, Longview Transit will provide free rides to anyone within the city limits from Longview on New Years Eve between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. Trips can be scheduled by calling Longview Transit at 903-753-2287 ext.10.

The service is available to the general public, including people who have had a few drinks or those who just don’t want to drive that night. Longview Transit encourages riders to plan their trips in advance, if possible.

Remember, if you miss the free ride, use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to get you home, but whatever you do, don’t get behind the wheel if you KNOW your head is spinning and you can. ‘t walk straight.
