The first snow showers of the season are expected in parts of Indiana Monday night!

INDIANAPOLIS – Polar air is beginning to settle in central Indiana and with it, our first snowflakes of the season may be arriving!

How much snow will fall and where?

Snowfall will be possible in central Indiana largely from 8:00 p.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. This does not mean that it will snow all the time, but rather the opportunity to see a few snow showers coming through the window. Snowfall will be light, although an overcoat may result from more persistent snowfall in northeastern parts of the state.

Tuesday cold, but warming soon after

Tuesday temperatures will remain cooler as the northwest wind remains strong. Gusts can reach 30 mph during the day. Lows will begin in the lower 30s and upper 20s in some places with wind chill placing felt temperatures around 10 degrees lower! Even during the day it will remain cold with partly to mostly cloudy and high skies in the mid 40s. This cool weather will not last long however, a steady warming will begin as early as Wednesday when the northwest wind begins to weaken and change direction…

Weekend heat!

The upper level pattern will lead to well above average highs by Saturday thanks to a robust southerly wind and a heat ridge. That should be enough to enjoy several days in the 70s!
