Want to help Ukrainians? Here are the ways to donate

Americans eager to help the people of Ukraine as The Russian army books that the Eastern European country can donate to a range of organizations already offering support.

An estimated 1.5 million people fled Ukraine for neighboring countries, while European Union officials predict that up to 7 million could possibly be moved. Here is a list of charities and other groups that solicit donations to help Ukrainians.

Airbnb.org. Airbnb’s nonprofit asks people, especially those residing in European countries close to Ukraine, to Register provide temporary accommodation for Ukrainian refugees or make a donation to their stays. The San Francisco-based company is also pledging to house up to 100,000 fleeing Ukraine.

CARE. The international aid group is providing food, water and other items to families fleeing violence in Ukraine. To contribute here.

Convoy of Hope. The disaster relief group says it is partnering with a local Polish organization to provide meals to refugees entering Poland, as well as delivering food, water and other basics in the whole region. Make a donation here.

HEART. The emergency response nonprofit is on the ground in Poland, distributing hygiene kits and thermal blankets, as well as emergency cash assistance to help families resettle. To contribute here.

Doctors Without Borders. Staff members of the medical relief organization remain in Ukraine and “are looking for ways to meet medical and humanitarian needs as the conflict evolves”. Offer support here.

International Committee of the Red Cross. The Swiss-based organization supports the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross to help people affected by war. Donate to the ICRC.

International Medical Corps. The first responder organization has teams in Ukraine and surrounding areas to provide medical and mental health services. Linked to to contribute.

Inter news. Supports independent media and at-risk journalists in 100 countries, with regional hubs including Kyiv. Make a donation here.

“Making the Ukrainian media work” is a GoFundMe campaign for Ukrainian journalists that also aims to help journalists relocate and continue their work from neighboring countries. Donations can be made here.

Kyiv Independent. The English-language news site launched a GoFundMe campaign asking Support.

The Project 762. Volunteers have collected, analyzed and published information on Russian troop build-ups along the Ukrainian border for much of the past year. Support the project here.

Project Hope. The global health and humanitarian aid organization is on the ground in and around Ukraine delivering medicine and medical supplies. It has teams in Ukraine, Poland, Moldova and Romania. Make a donation here.

Razom for Ukraine. Established in 2014 and dedicated to building a stronger democracy in Ukraine, the non-profit now focuses “on purchasing medical supplies for critical situations such as blood loss and other items of tactical medicine”. here is a listing of supplies he has already purchased and a call for more Support.

peace sunflower. The association’s current mission is to provide medical and humanitarian aid to people affected by the violence in Ukraine. He accepts donations through his Facebook page.

UNICEF. The global group dedicated to protecting children is working to provide humanitarian supplies to families without clean water or electricity due to the conflict. Contributions can be made here.

Centraide around the world. The world’s largest privately-funded non-profit organization has established a relief fund in response to the escalating humanitarian crisis to provide transport, shelter, food and medicine, including infant supplies such as formula. Donations to the United Fund for Ukraine can be made here.

Children’s voices. The Ukraine-based charity has been providing psychological counseling, including art therapy, to war-affected children in the east of the country since 2015, according to its site. The group is currently helping children and families across Ukraine, including during evacuations.

World Central Cuisine. Founded by world-renowned chef José Andrés after an earthquake devastated Haiti in 2010, the group provides meals to people in need around the world. Andrés is now feed Ukrainian refugees at the Polish border. Those who want to help fund the group can do so here.
