What reality TV stars looked like in the 2000s, then vs. vs now

The reality TV stars who got us hooked on the genre are all in very different places in their lives today.

Like many kids of the ’80s and’ 90s, I grew up in sitcoms and TV movies.

My most intense TV entertainment came from talk shows and soap operas / telenovelas.

I had no idea reality TV would show up and take over my teenage years.

Before we knew it, reality TV was everywhere and we watched it every minute.

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen some of the most entertaining first-time reality stars. Here is what they are doing now.

Erik-Michael Estrada (Make the group, 2000)

Erik-Michael Estrada was the lead singer and 1/5 of Make the group Creation season 1 O-Town at 21 years old.

Erik-Michael Estrada continues to perform and act, appearing in A Very Boy Band Christmas.

Eddie McGee (Big Brother, 2000)

Those Who Got Addicted To Season 1 Of Big Brother were shocked to see outspoken Eddie, nominated for consecutive elimination weeks, win the grand prize of $ 500,000.

Today Eddie is an actor and artist with a new short film will be released in 2022.

Kelly Osbourne (The Osbournes, 2002)

Kelly Osbourne turned 18 the same year her family’s, which was truly the first of its kind, reality TV show debuted. The show followed Kelly’s brief singing career.

These days Kelly is sober and exploring all areas of her career, from podcasting to concert hosting and more.

Tamyra Gray (American Idol, 2002)

Tamyra Gray proved herself among the vocal elite in her time in the first season of American Idol. Fans were outraged when she was knocked out of the Top 4, but there were bigger things in store for this starlet.

Tamyra has enjoyed singing, acting, and even performing on Broadway for the past few years.

Alex Michel (The single person, 2002)

Single nation, we’ve come a long way, haven’t we? It’s hard to think of this mega-popular reality show in its early days, but it was when we watched Alex Michel make his way through the Ladies of the first season, ultimately choosing Amanda Marsh.

Alex Michel has practically disappeared from public life, with Single producers even unable to reach it from 2020.

Trista Rehn (The bachelorette, 2003)

Season 1 finalist Trista Rehn has been chosen as the premiere Bachelorette. Trista and her ultimate pick, Ryan Sutter, may have been one of the earliest examples of reality TV couple goals. Trista also featured in the inaugural season of another major reality show, Dancing with the stars.

Trista and Ryan are still married and live in Colorado with their two children.

Evan Marriott (Joe Millionaire, 2003)

Evan Marriott was the first Joe millionaire when he was 28, putting women to the test to see if they could fall in love with a heavy equipment operator before revealing he had plenty of money. Critics of the show say that Evan didn’t come across as a nice guy.

Evan learned from the experience and finally apologized for his comments.

Adrianne Curry (The American top model, 2003)

Adrianne Curry rose to prominence as the winner of the inaugural undergraduate The next American top model, but it wouldn’t be his last reality TV stint in the decade. In 2015, she hosted Surreal life, where she met Christopher Knight (aka Peter Brady) and ended up marrying him, leading to their reality TV series, My beautiful Brady, which ended in 2008.

Adrianne said her farewell to public life in 2017, preferring the isolated life in the mountains these days.

Bill Rancic (The apprentice, 2004)

Before we had Jersey Shore, we had the Gottis showing us what tanned Italian life was like. Carmine was only 18 when the series aired.

Carmine has led a fairly calm life, without any legal issues, and works in the family’s auto body shop.

Ryan Benson (The biggest loser, 2004)

Ryan Benson lost an incredible 122 pounds. to The biggest loser, but he later revealed, like many other contestants, that it was not by the healthiest means. He put on some weight, which earned him a spot in the spin-off Big, big truth.

Ryan leads a healthy lifestyle with his wife and three children and works every day.

Brigitte Marquardt (The girls next door, 2005)

Nicole ‘Hoopz’ Alexandre (Flavor of love, 2006)

Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander was the laid back tinsel of an energetic Tiffany “New York” Pollard on Flavor of love season 1. Although his love affair with Flav did not last, Alexander had a number of high-profile relationships that followed, would be linked to both TI and Shaq.

Farrah Abraham was from the original crop of 16 & Pregnant girls and enticed fans with her decision not to tell her ex, who die during pregnancy, about the baby after he threatened her.

Farrah returns to 16 & Pregnant universe in 2021.
