Ybor City Empty Lot to Soon Include Sterling Cigar Lounge & Bar, Airbnb Rentals and Restaurant

This empty Ybor City lot near 7-Eleven and King Corona Cigars is finally getting a makeover.

Seventh Avenue’s newest concept will help bring the charm of old Ybor into the bustling Tampa Bay real estate market, when a multi-faceted building containing 8 Airbnb units, a restaurant and the Sterling Cigar Lounge & Bar will open between the 7th and 11th and the Ink Spot tattoo parlor.

Construction on the 45-foot-high infill building has already started, but there is no opening date, according to obsessed with permits development site Tampa tomorrow.

The 2,444-square-foot ground floor will be leased to an undetermined restaurant, according to TT, while the second and third floors, which have identical plans, will house the 8 Airbnb suites in the short term. While we don’t know much about the Cigar Lounge yet, the Rooftop Bar will certainly have seating facing 7th Avenue to meet all of your Ybor people-watching needs.

Tampa Tomorrow says local business Wilder architecture is responsible for the design of the 4 floors, Space of 94 by 26 feet. The company, which has carried out several works of historical preservation projects throughout the city, will design this infill to coincide with the architectural integrity of its 7th Avenue neighbors, which means, you guessed it, lots of exposed brick.

The term “intercalary developmentIs generally used to describe the process of restoring or refurbishing pre-existing building structures. Infills are especially important in places like Ybor City, as they help keep the region’s deep history and culture intact; the rooftop Sterling Cigar Lounge & Bar will continue this trend typically seen in large cities.

The new cigar lounge and bar is expected to have competition throughout downtown, especially from the King Corona Cigars & Cafe which is two doors down, as well as Tabanero Cigars, Tampa Sweethearts Cigar Co. and Ybor Cigars Plus, which are within walking distance. of the new building.

A 2019 study by Mashvisor said the average daily rate for an Airbnb in Tampa is $ 141, but only time will tell how much those new short-term rentals on 7th Avenue will cost when Ybor City’s latest infill concept debuts.
