You can help the family of a Poughkeepsie teenager killed during a football game

The Hudson Valley is helping the family of teenage Poughkeepsie who was killed after a football game in Arlington.

Quraan Smith, 16, a junior at Arlington High School, was fatally stabbed following a football game in Arlington on Friday night.

At around 9 p.m. on Friday, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing that occurred immediately after a football game at Arlington High School in LaGrange.

Nestor A. Ortiz-Ocampo, 18, from Poughkeepsie town was questioned by police and taken into custody in connection with a stabbing. He was charged with manslaughter, a felony.

Ortiz-Ocampo is a former student of Arlington High. We still don’t know what started the fight.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help. Anyone who has witnessed has any information or has video or photographs surrounding the fatal stabbing is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detectives’ Desk at 845-486-3820. All information will be kept confidential, police said.
