You can now stay in a sumptuous “secret room” inside the famous Moulin Rouge windmill in Paris

Have you always wanted to stay at the Moulin Rouge? Now you can-can.

For the first time in history, the iconic Parisian landmark is welcoming travelers for an overnight vacation via Airbnb. Best of all, you’ll stay in lavish new accommodation inside the nightclub’s famous red windmill. Built in 1889, this pillar of Montmartre has never been open to the public. Only three stays of this type will be available, which will make the experience even more special.

“This secret room inside the famous cabaret windmill has been designed to take you on an authentic journey through time to discover the French capital of arts and pleasures at a time in history,” said l French historian Jean-Claude Yon in a statement.

Inspired by a Belle Époque boudoir, the bedroom is full of elegant Art Nouveau features, rich velvet curtains and sumptuous furnishings that together evoke the glitz and glamor of the late 19th century. The walk-in closet, for example, is outfitted with vintage suits, perfumes, and love letters that add a nice, albeit sweet, touch. There’s even a private rooftop terrace dotted with ornate patio furniture that you can sit on and soak up the city of lights.

However, the secret bedroom is only the icing on the cake of this Gallic getaway. Guests will be greeted by Moulin Rouge principal dancer Claudine Van Den Bergh before embarking on a carefully curated evening dedicated to cabaret. First, you’ll take a private tour of the 133-year-old theater before heading to your romantic rooftop for an aperitif and three-course dinner prepared by resident chef Arnaud Demerville.

Of course, the night does not end there. The best seats in the house will be allocated to you for the Moulin Rouge show magic. Expect feathering, high kicks and a shameless display of French opulence.

“Attending a show at the Moulin Rouge offers an escape from everyday life and an incredible immersion in the glamor and grandeur of the French Music Hall,” adds Claudine Van Den Bergh.

After recovering inside the windmill, you’ll be treated to a classic Parisian breakfast the next morning.

The best part? The three one-night stays available, taking place on June 13, 20 and 27 respectively, will cost you just €1 a night for two people. Reservations will open on May 17 at 6 p.m.
