30 times people noticed a face in an everyday thing and just had to share it in this online group

Most of us have been there – seeing a loved one’s smile in the clouds, seeing a dog’s face in the grain of a wooden wall…or a creepy face staring back at you from the shadows. No, you’re not delusional or “crazy” – you’ve just experienced a wonderfully interesting phenomenon known as pareidolia. In short, it means that we see familiar objects or patterns in random objects.

And we’re not the only ones who think it’s awesome. The Things With Faces Facebook group has been inviting the sharing of pareidolia photos for over a decade! Today we present some of the best of them. Please rate your favorites as you scroll down, dear Pandas, and be sure to join the group if you like their stuff. What’s the weirdest case of pareidolia you’ve ever experienced? Let us know in the comments.

The Things With Faces group on Facebook. has been operating since 2012 September. It’s been over 10 years of sharing photos with things that look like they have faces! Any online community that manages to not only survive but thrive for so long deserves respect.

Boring Panda contacted the founder of mass popularity “Things With Faces” group, Ville Hising, a graphic design specialist, and he kindly answered a few of our questions. Read our full interview with him.
