Deny all you want, but the beautiful season is fast approaching. The rides, food, entertainment, the foodthe exhibits and I don’t think I mentioned THE FOOD. For the State Fair of Texas, finding the craziest food concoctions is a tradition. For the 2022 edition of the show, no disappointment.
The State Fair of Texas is scheduled for Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 23 at Fair Park in Dallas. Outside of Texas-OU gaming, rides, and entertainment, you come for the craziest food concoctions you’ll find anywhere. Each year, the Big Tex Choice Awards award their top prizes to three of the craziest fair trade food mixes in three categories; Best taste – sweet, best taste – salty and the most creative.

The contest started in July with 51 different food entries. From there it was whittled down to 36. Anyone jealous of taste testers? I am. Out of those 36, we now have the top 10. There were four criteria to determine the Top 10, uniqueness, creativity, presentation and taste. A celebrity judging panel will have the chance to taste each of the 10 finalists (jealousy is growing) on Sunday August 28 and decide the winners in all three categories.

I will follow up once the winners in all three categories have been determined at the end of the month.
