Woman killed, Airbnb tenant injured while driving through San Antonio home

Two women were shot and one of them died following the deadly shooting, officials said.

SAN ANTONIO — An innocent woman has died and an Airbnb tenant has been injured following a fatal shot in far western San Antonio that happened early Tuesday morning, officials said.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 12:30 p.m., two teenagers drove a stolen car near a house on Bald Mountain Drive and someone inside the vehicle fired towards a house.

The car then turned around and shot at another house that was rented out as Airbnb. More than 100 bullets were fired at the homes, officials noted.

Two women in one of the houses were shot — one with multiple gunshot wounds. A 25-year-old woman, who was in her bedroom working on the computer, died in the attack. The other woman, who was an Airbnb tenant, was shot in the leg, officials said.

The woman killed has been identified as 25-year-old Novita Brazil.

BCSO said it found a car that matched the description of the suspects’ vehicle and chased it along Highway 90. A foot chase then took place near Acme Road. San Antonio police have arrested a 14- and 15-year-old boy.

Officials said they believe the houses were chosen at random. They informed residents that guns may be lying around the neighborhood and urged them not to touch them, but rather to call authorities immediately.
