Mitchell Trubisky’s sabbatical year with the Buffalo Bills wasn’t as productive as the Pittsburgh Steelers had anticipated. A slow start dashed any hopes of Trubisky becoming a star after sitting behind Josh Allen last season.
In two games, Trubisky completed 59.3% of his passes for 362 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His lack of big assets is obvious. Trubisky ranks 29th in passing and has rushed for just 16 yards. Despite some decent guns, the Steelers offense felt unremarkable.
But there is hope on the way…maybe.
Steelers fans have already called for first-round rookie Kenny Pickett in Week 2 and there’s a chance Pickett will make his debut in Week 3 if Trubisky fails to produce splashy plays. Pickett has had a solid pre-season, but that doesn’t guarantee success once the real games start.

On the other side, the Cleveland Browns are looking to bounce back from a miserable collapse against the New York Jets in Week 2. The Browns’ offense performed well in the loss, so it’s up to the defense to prove they can contain Trubisky.
