A cool vacation rental with ties to an iconic 1970s rock band has popped up in a gorgeous part of the Constitutional State.
Surrounded by lush vegetation is the former estate of guitarist Ace Frehley — one of the founders and original guitarist of KISS. The house is now a swanky Airbnb tucked away down a long gated driveway in Wilton, Connecticut.
“Located across from a 70-acre private farm with accessible hiking trails, it’s the perfect escape,” the listing says on Airbnb. “Similar to something out of a magazine, this breathtaking home offers large open spaces, lots of glass and light. Come and record in the restored studio, if you wish.
The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home is elegantly decorated inside with a whimsical and artistic touch that flows with sophistication. Pop art works by Marilyn Monroe and Jim Morrison also line the walls.
The studio has been highlighted in an interview with John Storykthe architect who designed Frehley’s home recording studio, published by KISS Concert History Online.
“Ace had more or less just had his new home in Connecticut, right on the Connecticut-New York border, and wanted his own studio,” Storyk said in the interview.
“There was nothing non-commercial other than the fact that it was not a commercial studio. And also he [wasn’t] a giant studio — [Ace] didn’t need a giant studio. He needed room for three, four musicians.

Frehley performed with KISS – with their painted faces, their leather suits and their theatrical concerts – from their beginnings in 1973 until their departure in 1982 to begin a solo career.
Wilton is about 55 miles northeast of New York.
