Man in photos released by Pittsburgh police identified

Pittsburgh police say the man seen in these photos in connection with the fatal Easter Sunday shooting at an Airbnb on Suismon Street has been identified. In their Wednesday update, police did not publicly release the man’s name or whether he was a suspect or person of interest in the mass shooting. Cara Cruz of the Department of Public Safety said the man “is someone the police would like to speak with.” Two 17-year-olds, Matthew Steffy-Ross and Jaiden Brown, were killed in the April 17 shooting at an Airbnb rental. Nine others were wounded by bullets. Several other people were also injured jumping out of windows to escape. Isaac Falvey, chairman of the board of directors of the Spring Garden and East Deutschtown community alliance, told Action News 4 from Pittsburgh that there was a community meeting on Tuesday evening, and although photos were posted by police leading to possible leads, he said many residents still expressed frustration with the officers at the meeting. “(Police) said that while there was nothing released, there were a lot of investigations,” Falvey said. “It’s at the forefront of what they’re doing, they haven’t just let it go.” Falvey added that the shooting brought a lot of negative and unwanted attention to their community. “We want results, I’m sure the police want results too, but again a lot of people saw a lot of bad things in our neighborhood that night and they want peace of mind, the police will know who is responsible for them,” Falvey said.
