Mystery Machine ‘Scooby-Doo’ available for 3 nights this month – WPXI

MALIBU, Calif. – This is the ultimate groovy getaway for “Scooby-Doo” fans: a night in the Mystery Machine.

According to KSWB-TV, Airbnb announced Tuesday that a recreation of the iconic pickup truck will be available for three overnight stays later this month in honor of the 20th anniversary of the movie “Scooby-Doo.” Beginning at 1 p.m. EDT Thursday, potential customers will be able to request a Reservation at $20 a night for June 24, 25 or 26, the vacation rental site wrote in a statement.

“This summer, customers can live out their dreams of van living along the Southern California coast while spending the night in Shaggy and Scooby’s vehicle,” the statement read.

Actor Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the 2002 film, is listed as the host of the stays, which will take place off Malibu, KSWB reported.

“I’ve been channeling Shaggy since the live-action adaptation in 2002, and he’s been a part of me ever since,” Lillard said in a statement. “I look forward to welcoming guests into the world of the Mystery Inc. gang as an Airbnb host and providing them with a summer vacation they will never forget…monsters not included!”

The van can accommodate two people per night, according to the statement. Each stay will include “a virtual greeting from Lillard,” 2002 props, snacks and food, a “late night review” of the film, mystery games, and “an outdoor setup with ample seating and space. hammock for the whole gang to vibrate, Airbnb said.

The website added that the stays are not part of a contest and that lucky guests who get a reservation must arrange their own travel to Malibu, according to the statement.
