Remember yesterday? It’s time for the Pioneer Power Show

In an era when the world is spinning on the internet and everyone is on the phone, it’s time to remember and experience a simpler time in Union Gap.

The Central Washington Agricultural Museum’s Pioneer Power Show and Swap Meet is scheduled for August 21-22 in Fullbright Park in Union Gap. it is the oldest running event in Union Gap. This is the time when the whole valley can learn about the history of agriculture while having some old school fun. Many exhibits of old-fashioned equipment as museum officials call it and a parade of special and popular equipment. You will have the opportunity to observe the operation of old equipment and to discover how the valley developed under the hard work of men and machines. For example, you can learn about the forge and see demonstrations of the turn-of-the-century sawmill and apple packing line.

FRESH BREAD BAKED AFTER LEARNING TO THRESH THE WHEAT

Check out the displays of quilts and other historical exhibits. You can learn about threshing wheat the old-fashioned way, then sample freshly baked bread at the Bread Shack.
It’s a show for the whole family with special events just for kids, including the children’s train, the children’s wagon and for the little ones, the animal swing. Your kids will have the chance to drive a real live excavator and maybe even win a bike or a toy by playing the Passport game. Other live events include tractor pulls, tractor games, and draft horse buggy demonstrations. Union Gap officials are announcing something new this year, the Pacific Northwest Vintage Snowmobile Club will be presenting an exhibit at the event so you can experience vintage snowmobiles.

The Pioneer Power Show is scheduled for August 21-22 at Fullbright Park in Union Gap. Cost is $ 5.00 per person / children under 12 are free.
