Rent a room in Houston for your next party with Peerspace

Why not skip the lively bars, bypass the crowded clubs and throw your own New Year’s Eve party this year? It sounds like a great idea to invite all your friends over to ring in 2023, until you remember that your living room is too small and your baseboards are too dirty.

Before you start scrubbing, maybe check Peer spacewhere you can find a place in Houston for your New Year’s gathering. Unlike Airbnb, which imposes fines for “disruptive gatherings”, Peerspace was created specifically for locals to rent out their event spaces, from yoga studios to storefronts. The site is easy to navigate, allowing you to narrow the search by price, number of attendees, date and other filters.

Peerspace has a few drawbacks. You can’t actually visit the space before you book, most listings don’t include photos of the exterior of the building, and the address isn’t included in the description, although clues can be used to determine the location.

For an imaginary party of 30-40 people from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in a cool, modern venue in or near the Loop, here are some of the unique spots we found on Peerspace.
