Terrible! Texas woman tragically kills her child’s grandmother

Police say a custody visit to a Starbucks in Richardson, Texas ended in tragedy on Monday when a woman was fatally shot.

What happened?

According to the police53 years Kentoria Nicole Edwards had full custody of 23 years Tranisa Octavin Trana Watt’s child. Edwards agreed to let Watts see her child during a meet and greet at a local Starbucks.

Things escalated and tragedy ensued

WTVM Reports that on Monday, April 18, the two met at the popular cafe 15 miles north of Dallas, where Watts allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot Edwards multiple times.

Police arrived at the scene around 7:12 p.m. The first officer who arrived reportedly saw Watts attempting to flee the scene with the child. She was quickly apprehended.

Officers attempted CPR on Edwards before paramedics arrived to take him to hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead after she arrived.

Fortunately, the child was not injured.

My opinion

Let’s start from the beginning.

Here are the obvious questions:

  • Why did the grandmother have custody of the child in the first place?
  • Why did a 23-year-old mother have to ask permission to see her own child?
  • More importantly, where is the child’s father?

The generosity of the grandmother

Whatever the reason Watts did not have custody of her child, the grandmother was generous enough to let her see her child. How did things escalate for Edwards to get shot? Was it worth it? Was the shooter even thinking about the child’s safety and well-being?

And now?

Again, police say the child was unharmed in the shooting, so that’s a blessing.

Meanwhile, Tranisa Octavin Trana Watts has been charged with capital murder.

sad situation

The only person who loses here is the small child. Their mother could go to prison for the rest of her life. Again I have to ask – where is the father?
