The millennial trend is taking over Airbnb for 2022
The Grandmillennial trend is making waves online, and no website is safe, including Airbnb. The vacation rental site has revealed that “great millennial” is one of its most popular buzzwords for 2022, meaning this controversial trend is set to continue for seasons to come.
The term “grandmillennium” didn’t exist until 2020 when it first appeared as a hashtag on social media. The style is a “grandma and millennial” portmanteau that acts as a rebellion against minimalism.
Think a revival of your grandparents’ bolder design features – bloused ruffles, tapestry and chintz included. This interior design trend is not for the faint of heart.
Being a great millennial at home is a long-time commitment, but what happens when you want to flirt with the trend? Enter Airbnb – the site that offers temporary accommodations for those who can indulge in the great millennium without tainting their schedule. There are currently over 14,000 listings on Airbnb that feature “grandmillenial” in their descriptions, including the three properties below.
