TUI holidaymakers livid after being stranded at Glasgow airport for the duration of the AXED holiday
FAMILIES failed at Glasgow Airport were left livid – after TUI scrapped all of their vacations.
Furious holidaymakers flocked to the terminal, four hours before 1.55pm flightwhich was then delayed FIVE times before the door was opened.
But a few minutes before the flight departed, passengers were told holidays had been discarded.
In a heated place social media rant, an outraged traveler wrote: “It was originally a holiday in 2020, which was canceled due to covid.
“Rebooked for 2021, Covid canceled again, this was our third attempt at a family holiday in three years. We needed it. Our kids needed it.
“After we were told everything was cancelled, we were told to proceed to baggage claim and then to a desk at the check-in counter (where our day began) to receive accommodation details .
“Like us, many families were not originally from Glasgow. With a few drinks before the start, it was not even possible to drive.”
“We waited another 3 hours at the office with no communication, only to be told there was no hotels around for them to supply us so we got a print out with a £150 per family voucher to claim later.”
“Nope TUI personal, no communication, no food or drink, no accommodation and above all; no holidays and lots of heartbroken and understandably angry families who want answers.”
In response, a TUI spokesperson said: “We would like to apologize to customers traveling on flight TOM654 from Glasgow to Antalya on Sunday May 28 which was unfortunately canceled due to operational issues.
“Customers affected by flight cancellations will receive a full refund for their holiday within 14 days.
“We understand that last minute cancellations are incredibly disappointing and we want to reassure our customers that we are doing everything we can to get them off on vacation as planned.
“While every cancellation is regrettable, the vast majority of our flights are operating as planned, with over 26,000 customers departing on vacation yesterday.
“We would like to apologize again for the inconvenience caused and thank customers for their understanding.”
