Why GlasGLOW is essential this fall

Travel back in time at the best dinosaur-themed event in Glasgow’s beautiful botanic world!

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but among the excited kids at GlasGLOW last night were two 21-year-old women who were geeky about dinosaurs, fancy lights and s’mores. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience as we traveled back in time to Glasgow’s best themed event of the year. With its mesmerizing lights, infamous Marshmallowland, GLOWbar and street-food village, the event lights up Glasgow’s West End both figuratively and literally.

It was so nice to see the joy on people’s faces (including ours) as we traveled the path to the “Time Forgotten Land”. The event took us through the gardens and allowed us to take our steps before our stop at Marshmallowland. We got the vegan marshmallows with dinosaur-shaped cookies and layers of roasting chocolate in the cutest area lit by fairy lights.

Depending on how many photos you take, trying not to trip over a toddler in the dark, and how long it takes you to figure out how to make s’mores, the whole thing should take around an hour and a half. The staff are incredibly kind and play their part throughout the process and the vibe of this event is so wholesome!

Especially with the gloomy weather coming, let this event shine your night. It’s definitely a must see in Glasgow and suitable for everyone, romantic enough for a date, kid friendly for all families and of course a great autumn evening with your friends. If you’re a student and weren’t quick enough to buy the £10 early bird tickets, then maybe £22 is a bit of a stretch… But at least now you know you need to be ready for next year’s ticket release!

It’s overall a fun, wholesome, cute event and you get what you pay for (unlike the Van Gogh experience…sorry Van Gogh). You can try delicious food, dinosaur-themed drinks, and have plenty of artistic photo opportunities with your dinosaur s’mores. 10/10 would recommend!
