In fiction, there is a type of conflict known as “Character vs. Technology.” But reality is often stranger than fiction. Today we have for you a tale about the collision of animal and technology. More precisely, between a dog and a drone. Spoiler alert: the dog won. Through a landslide. And he is perfectly healthy.
In the series of riveting columns (here, hereand here), redditor u/DeadDrone999 shared how his dog completely destroyed a neighbor’s drone. The neighbor used it to annoy almost everyone in the area by deliberately flying it onto other people’s property and harassing the pet.
But it didn’t end there, no. The author of the story revealed that he was sued for it (not the other way around)! But things didn’t end well for the drone’s owner. He got what was coming to him. Check out the full story below, Pandas! This is proof that justice exists.

The entitled neighbor felt that he had been unfairly denied access to the OP’s property. He also wanted damages for losing a drone he had been flying over people’s yards all the time. But according to redditor u/DeadDrone999, the judge basically laughed off his claims.
The recorder shared indisputable evidence with the court that the neighbor had harassed his dog in the past. In the end, the OP received almost $2,000 from a neighbor to cover her beloved pet’s medical bills. In addition, the owner of the drone was investigated for not registering the equipment and not following the rules of the flight.
“It turns out that suing him was the best thing that ever happened to me. […] I had tons of pictures of my yard that showed he couldn’t “accidentally” fly that low to my dog, videos of him harassing my dog in the past, and saved up all my medical bills to take the dog to the vet. . $700 for an x-ray? Check it out. Another $250 to appease him? Why not, don’t want to make him uncomfortable. Complete dental checkup with teeth cleaning/repair? $400. Then there was the cost of anti-anxiety meds and a second check-up, wet food for a week in case of tooth damage, and extra for a good measure. at the end,[he] ended up owing me almost $2000.
The amount of veterinary care OP’s dog needs is staggering. We are glad that everything worked out for him. As the author said, “He could have killed my dog. I don’t have kids or a girlfriend, I only have my dog who has been my best friend for the past 7 years. That dog moved with me three times, was there when I graduated college, saw me buy my first house and my first new car. I love my dog.”
Exact rules and regulations owning and flying drones will depend on the country and area where you live. Generally speaking, you need to register your property and know where you can and cannot fly. There are various bedrones areas that you should never, ever enter.
But even without these official rules, it’s wise not to encroach on your neighbors’ property with expensive tech toys. We all enjoy our privacy. We all love our pets. And people can’t help but get angry when someone crosses those lines.
The golden rule is usually the best thing to keep in mind when you feel stuck on what you should and shouldn’t do. Put yourself in the shoes of your neighbors and think how you would feel if someone treated you the way you treat them.
When you’re dealing with discerning neighbors who may not understand privacy as well as you, it’s best start delicately and diplomatically before moving on to more open and direct conversations. After all, you will have to live with those people for a long time.
It is hardly worth starting a huge feud that will last for years (even if they are completely wrong). A more diplomatic approach can help prevent additional stress in your life. If your neighbor can’t understand that you’d rather be left alone, just go about your day and ignore them. Although if things escalate into harassment and snooping, it’s worth seeking help from your local homeowners association, law enforcement, or even a lawyer.
