new Vilnius concert hall
Luca poian forms presents the project of a new concert hall in Vilnius called “nation’s house”. The project is planned as an insertion into the natural park of Mount Taurus, which currently houses a Roman-style building with high poles on the footpath of Mount Taurus, popular with locals and city guests alike. the architectural work is to be incorporated into the hillside, which opens outwards through its entrance, which celebrates the relationship with the local landscape, and the experience of the park blends seamlessly into the front experience of the concert hall.
Luca poian forms ‘designboom team says:’this sense of place is further enhanced by the carefully choreographed spatial sequence, which is revealed both in plan and cross-section as visitors move through various pre-functional spaces and end up on terraces with views of the surrounding landscape.. ‘

the facade as a shining veil
luca poian forms (see above here) describes its “nation house” concert hall in Vilnius with translucent, veil-like facades. This effect is achieved by using corrugated glass, a material that maximizes daylight throughout the day and allows light to spread from the building at night. this luminous quality seeks to establish the concert hall as a beacon among the park. The design team notes that the unique ethereal and temporary quality is “unlike the musical performances that take place inside.”

The luca poian forms team continues to explain the acoustic features of the Vilnius Concert Hall design: “The acoustic design of the halls, and especially the main hall, stems from the need to create an environment with exceptional hearing combined with originality. and attractive aesthetics. for this purpose, the deliberate choice to glue the main hall to the gloomy edges with wooden boards ensures a long reverberation time, but avoids focusing phenomena, which encourages the spread of sound in the space.
