So sad! Former Dallas Cowboys player found dead at 38

The NFL world mourns another loss as a former Dallas Cowboy fan favorite was found dead in his apartment on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Marion Barbier

Marion Barber, former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl running back, was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday. According to Fort Worth Star TelegramFrisco police forced their way into Barbers’ apartment after someone reported a water leak from his apartment.

Frisco Police spokesman Joshua Lovell said:

“Frisco Police responded to a welfare concern at an apartment allegedly rented by Marion Barber, Frisco Police and the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating an unattended death at the scene.”

Marion Barber was 38 and just days away from her 39th birthday.

Marion the Barbarian

Barber was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2005 and made his only Pro Bowl appearance just three years later after rushing for a career-high 975 yards during the regular season. He will play a total of six years with the Cowboys and one with the Chicago Bears. He retired after that year with the Bears.

The Cowboys also released a statement saying:

“We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III,” the statement read. “Marion was an old school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every try. He had a passion for the game and a love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Marion during this difficult time.

Always in our hearts. #MarionTheBarbarian

Fantasy football players know very well the damage that Marion the Barbarian can inflict on an opposing team. My team, The Crowz, lost a playoff spot after playing against a team managed by Barber. Dallas was playing Detroit when Barber scored 3 touchdowns and over 100 yards.

I still hold Detroit responsible for ending my season early this year.

As a football fan in general, RIP Marion Barber and thanks for making the game fun to watch.
