works together with the city of Vilnius, Daniel Libeskind proposed plans to build a ski resort liekalnis ski mountain in Lithuania. The project named “Vilnius Lighthouse” aims to create a new tourist destination in the Baltic region between the historic city center and the nearby airport. in addition to winter sports, the center will also be able to engage in various summer activities and offer recreational and cultural entertainment for guests of all ages.

in the center of the main plan, a circular plaza encloses an open arena, while the two main structures are located on the periphery of the site. connecting the scheme, a zigzag canopy creates a protected walkway between the main areas of the complex. the main entrance building is characterized by a curved facade and sloping roofline, which houses the ticket office and retail outlets.

across the plot to the north-east, on the side of the hill, there is a three-storey house with a curved roof, which forms a continuation of the surrounding landscape. on the ground floor there is an open lobby with a multi-purpose space for year-round events, while upstairs visitors can dine in a casual bistro. The upper level of the building features a gourmet restaurant with wrap-around windows. construction is planned to start in 2015 and end in 2016.
